This Privacy Policy describes how Khhabar ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use khhabar.com and the Khhabar mobile app.

Information we collect

We collect the following:

  • Account information: your name and email address when you register an account, either on the website or in the app. Your password is stored encrypted (hashed) — we never store or have access to your plain-text password.
  • Content you create: comments you post on articles, and articles you like or bookmark.
  • Device push notification token: if you enable notifications in the app, we use OneSignal to deliver them. OneSignal assigns your device an anonymous subscription identifier — we do not receive your device's phone number, contacts, or precise GPS location through this.
  • Location preference: the app lets you pick a state to filter news by. This is a manual selection you make yourself — the app does not access your device's GPS or track your real-world location.
  • Technical data: IP address and browser/device type, collected automatically for security and to prevent abuse (e.g. comment spam, login rate-limiting).
  • Advertising data: the app may show ads via Google AdMob. When ads are active, Google and its partners may collect an advertising identifier to serve and measure ads. As of this policy's last update, ads are turned off in the app.

How we use your information

We use the information above to operate your account, display your comments/likes/bookmarks, send you push notifications you've opted into, moderate content, secure the platform against abuse, and (when active) serve advertising.

Third-party services we use

  • OneSignal — push notification delivery.
  • Google AdMob — in-app advertising (currently inactive).
  • Google Play / Firebase Cloud Messaging — underlying delivery infrastructure for Android push notifications.

Each of these providers processes data under its own privacy policy in addition to this one.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data with the third-party services listed above only as needed to provide the features they power (e.g. sending you a push notification).

Data retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Comments remain visible on the site even if you later delete your account, unless you specifically request their removal.

Your rights: accessing, correcting, or deleting your data

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing us at khhabarnews@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account. We will act on deletion requests within a reasonable time.

Children's privacy

Khhabar is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "last updated" date below.
